Byron Music proudly supports the manufacturer warranties of the brands we represent and your full rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Please note that manufacturer warranties vary by brand and model — always refer to the manufacturer’s official website for full details.
All new products supplied by Byron Music come with a minimum 12-month manufacturer warranty, unless the product listing or the manufacturer’s documentation specifies a longer period.
Products sold as used, demo or second-hand items include a 3-month limited warranty — this covers defects in workmanship or components. This limited warranty only applies if the item has been used under normal operating conditions and has not been modified, overloaded or mis-used.
The warranty will cover:
Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship.
Electrical or mechanical faults arising under normal use (not caused by misuse, neglect or unauthorised modification).
Faults that the manufacturer’s warranty or ACL entitles you to a remedy for.
The warranty does not cover:
General wear & tear, cosmetic damage, ageing, or degradation through normal use.
Damage resulting from misuse, neglect, abuse, improper installation, alteration or modification not authorised by the manufacturer.
Consumable parts (e.g., strings, tubes, batteries, bulbs, fuses) that are expected to be replaced in normal use.
Faults or damage caused by external conditions (e.g., water, salt air, excessive humidity, lightning, incorrect mains voltage) unless explicitly covered by the manufacturer.
Service or repair by unauthorised persons that void the manufacturer’s warranty (many brands stipulate this).
Products purchased overseas or outside of the manufacturer’s authorised supply chain may not be eligible for warranty.
To make a warranty claim, please follow these steps:
Email info@byronmusic.com.au with:
Your proof of purchase (tax invoice, receipt).
Product details (brand, model, serial number if applicable).
A clearly described issue: what is happening, when it began, how the product was used. Attach photos or video if relevant.
We’ll review your claim and may ask further information, or request that the item be returned for inspection or sent to authorised service centre.
If the claim is valid under the manufacturer’s warranty or the ACL, we’ll coordinate repair, replacement or other remedy in line with the manufacturer’s policy.
If the manufacturer’s policy requires you to lodge directly with them, we’ll assist in directing you to the correct website or repair centre.
If the manufacturer’s or Byron Music’s policy covers the fault, we will aim to arrange for return or repair shipping in accordance with that policy.
If the fault is not covered (for instance misuse, modification, or after‐warranty), shipping costs may be charged to the customer.
You are responsible for ensuring safe packaging and insured shipping when returning items unless otherwise arranged.
Manufacturer warranties are in addition to, and do not limit, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. The ACL gives you guarantees (e.g., acceptable quality, fit for purpose, matching description) that cannot be excluded.
Many brands publish full warranty terms on their websites — we strongly recommend you check the manufacturer’s website for the exact terms, warranty period, exclusions and registration requirements (if any). For example, some brands require online registration within a specified period. Australis Music+1
