REFUND POLICY

At Byron Music, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase.
If something isn’t right, we’ll do our best to make it right — in line with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and our commitment to fair service.


1. Overview

We accept returns for items that are:

  • Faulty, defective, or not as described, or

  • Returned under management-approved change of mind conditions (store credit or exchange only).

We aim to handle all returns promptly and transparently.


2. Eligibility

You may request a return or exchange if:

  • The item is not as described (e.g. incorrect model, major feature discrepancy, or condition issue), or

  • The item is defective upon arrival (the fault existed at the time of delivery or collection).

Returns for change of mind are accepted within 7 days at management’s discretion, provided the product:

  • Is unused and in original condition,

  • Includes all original packaging, manuals, accessories, and tags, and

  • Is accompanied by proof of purchase (e.g. Tax Invoice).


3. Return Timeframe

  • You must contact Byron Music within seven (7) days of receiving or collecting your item to request a return.

  • Returns lodged after this period may not be accepted unless required under the Australian Consumer Law.


4. Return Procedure

To initiate a return:

  1. Email info@byronmusic.com.au with your order number, product name/SKU, and a brief description of the issue (include photos if relevant).

  2. Our team will reply within 2 business days with instructions for returning or exchanging the item.

  3. Once the product is received and inspected, we’ll confirm the outcome and process your credit, exchange, or refund if applicable.

Please do not send items back before receiving return approval, as this may delay processing.


5. Refunds, Credits & Exchanges

  • If your item is confirmed to be faulty, not as described, or defective on arrival, we will arrange a repair, replacement, or refund as appropriate.

  • If your return is due to change of mind, we may offer a store credit or exchange instead of a cash refund.

  • All approved credits or refunds will be processed to your original payment method or issued as store credit within 3–5 business days of inspection.


6. Return Shipping Costs

  • Faulty / Incorrect Items: Byron Music covers return shipping costs or provides a pre-paid label.

  • Change of Mind Returns: Customers are responsible for return postage and any associated freight fees.

We recommend using a tracked and insured postal service for all returns.


7. Exclusions

For hygiene and copyright reasons, the following products cannot be returned or exchanged unless faulty or not as described:

  • Microphones, earphones, and in-ear monitors

  • Harmonicas, reeds, mouthpieces, and recorders

  • Opened software, digital downloads, or plug-ins

  • Clearance or “as-is” sale items


8. Warranty Assistance

Most products come with a manufacturer warranty.
If your product develops a fault after the initial 7-day period, contact us — we can help facilitate warranty service or direct you to an authorised service centre.

Keep your Tax Invoice as proof of purchase, as it’s required for warranty claims.
