A rare opportunity to own a piece of Northern Irish guitar making history: an Avalon Eclipse J320e, made in collaboration with renowned guitar builder Zemaitis, in the old Lowden factory of Newtownards in Northen Ireland.This guitar is a slightly modified version of one of the five George Harrison commissioned guitars made by Zemaitis, featuring an array of timbers and intricate building techniques.
The top is made of gorgeous bear claw Alaskan spruce, complemented by figured Indian rosewood back and sides. The neck is nine-piece, featuring South American Mahogany, American Walnut, South American Purple Heart and English Sycamore.The eclipse rosette is hand inlaid with Madagascar Ebony and Tasmanian Blackwood. It is akin to the rosettes on the Zemaitis guitars made for George Harrison. The fretboard is Ebony.
This Super Jumbo is similar in shape to a Gibson SJ200, with a slightly narrower waist, ensuring optimal playability for anyone. This shape is typical of a Zemaitis design.The guitar's tone is deep and loud, with beautiful mid-range harmonics and a shimmering top end.
