TG2-500
The Chandler Limited TG2-500 preamp is a modern reproduction of the rare EMI TG12428 preamplifier that was originally utilized in the recording and mastering consoles at EMI/Abbey Road Studios during the late 1960s and early 1970s. The equipment from EMI/Abbey Road Studios is renowned worldwide for its distinctive and pleasing sonic qualities, as exemplified in iconic albums like The Beatles' "Abbey Road" and Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon." Now, for the first time, the legendary TG2 preamp sound is available in a compact 500 Series format.
The TG2-500 microphone preamplifier incorporates the same discrete, transformer-balanced amplifiers found in other Chandler Limited TG series products, such as the TG2 Preamp/DI, TG Microphone Cassette, TG12411 Channel (TG Channel MKII), and TG1 Limiter.
The microphone preamplifier and line amplifier from the highly praised TG2 Preamp/DI have been adapted for the industry-standard 500 Series format, all while preserving the distinct sonic characteristics of Chandler Limited's TG2 Preamp/DI. Many users have described its audio quality as having a creamy and smooth tone with a surprisingly clear and open top-end. People often attribute its sound to having "warmth" and punch, coupled with a "beautifully" extended top end. In fact, the TG2-500 microphone preamplifier does exhibit a slight increase in its top-end frequency response and introduces some warmth-inducing distortion, which contributes to its unique sound.
Now, the exceptional sound of the Chandler Limited TG2-500 preamp and the legacy of EMI/Abbey Road Studios can be brought to your 500 Series rack.
